The defining characteristic of pearlscales is the convex calcified scales. They also have a very fat or rounded body shape. We are raising two types of pearlscale; crown pearlscale and ping-pong or golf ball pearlscale. The crown pearlscale has a head growth while the ping-pong or golfball pearlscale does not. The round body makes pearlscale really cute, but that compact body makes them susceptible to swim bladder problems so supplement the pellets with plenty of fresh vegetables. If you choose a pearlscale with a slightly longer body there is little chance that swim bladder issues will develop as they age.
All of these goldfish were born on our farm, each one is different and the individual in the photos is the individual you receive.
